Ready to Move Forward

We are on target to break ground in Ferbruary-March. We have the builder selected, the bank is taken care of, we have all the initial sub-contractors lined up, etc. In a couple of weeks we will be meeting the builder/excavator to stake off the exact building location. The weather will dictate when the footers are dug, concrete poured and block work laid.

Below are some picture before it all begins (click pictures to enlarge):

The pond filled up in Ferbuary 2011, stocked it with Fathead minnows in May 2010.
Stocked it with Large Mouth Bass and Redear SunFish in May 2011.
Danial with a Large Mouth Bass - November 2011
They grew from 2-3 inches to 6-8 inches in 6 months!
House site, set up for fall 2011 bow hunting "Deer Camp".

  1. The pond fills by natural flow, so I assume it will always be full? Is that correct? Do you allow visitors to fish in your pond? Can't wait to see the next round of photos.

  2. The pond is filled by natural water flow, we have some small springs that are always running and then rain water run-off. Once it filled in February last year, it has always remained full. It is usually running down the spillway a small amount, but there are times if it has been dry that it is not overflowing and is down an inch or two from the spillway, but the very next rain of any amount fills it right back up. Friends and family will all be welcome to fish!

  3. Thanks for the link to your blog, Chris. I will enjoy following the progress you're making.

But fishing? Gee.... What's that? Never did THAT before... (lol). I expect a special invite to visit your new place and finally go fishing!
